Empowering Black Girls Through Culture, Creativity & Technology
This summer, Circuit Canvas is launching a bold and innovative 4-week “Braids & Code” Camp in Edinburgh — designed for Black girls aged 8–17. Blending cultural heritage with future-ready digital skills, this programme creates a safe, inspiring space where girls can learn braiding, explore coding, build confidence, and connect with sisterhood.

Hair braiding is more than a skill — it is identity, history, creativity, and empowerment. Across communities, braid camps have shown they can build confidence, self-expression, and even entrepreneurial skills for young girls.

Digital skills are critical for the future. Yet girls — especially Black girls — remain underrepresented in tech. Braids & Code bridges both worlds, using culture as a launchpad for technology.

- Intro to coding (games, animations, logic)

- Advanced styling & personal creativity
